FLIR M232 Thermal Camera Install on White Pointer
We recently completed a premium install on a White Pointer hardtop boat, adding a FLIR M232 thermal camera for enhanced safety and navigation in all conditions.
What We Installed:
-
FLIR M232 Thermal Camera
We mounted a FLIR M232 thermal imaging camera on the hardtop, giving the skipper clear visibility in complete darkness, fog, or low-light situations. The M232 offers crisp thermal imagery with a full 360° pan range when paired with a compatible display.
-
Integration with Existing Garmin 8416XSV
Rather than adding a separate screen, we integrated the FLIR camera directly into the boat’s existing Garmin 8416XSV multifunction display. This means the skipper can now view thermal imagery, sonar, and charts all in one place — no extra clutter, no extra hassle.
Why This Setup Works:
For boats like the White Pointer, often used for offshore fishing and overnight trips, thermal vision adds an extra layer of safety — spotting markers, other boats, obstacles, and even people in the water. Integrating the FLIR M232 with the Garmin 8416XSV keeps everything streamlined and easy to manage from a single helm station.
It’s a perfect example of modern marine technology making boating both safer and smarter.
