Osprey 515 – Simrad NSX 15” Widescreen Upgrade

Today we had the pleasure of upgrading this Osprey 515 with the Simrad NSX 15” Widescreen, a seriously impressive multifunction display. With crystal-clear resolution, an ultra-responsive touch interface, and ample screen real estate for split views, this unit is perfect for offshore missions where visibility and quick access to critical data matter.

Upgrading from the GO9

We replaced the older GO9 display and fully networked the NSX widescreen into the existing EVO3S display and S5100 sonar module using a Simrad NEP-2 network expander. The result is seamless integration across all systems, giving the skipper full control and flexibility.

Charting & Mapping

The EVO3S continues to run C-MAP, while the NSX uses C-MAP X, so each screen retains its own chart card. Despite that, all other functions are fully linked, meaning navigation, sonar, and data are all synchronized and easily accessible.

Next-Level Sonar Coverage

This setup delivers outstanding sonar performance for both inshore and offshore fishing:

  • Active Imaging transducer feeding the EVO3S

  • Airmar TM275LHW running through the S5100 module

Thanks to the latest software updates, both screens can now display sonar from either transducer, giving the user maximum flexibility for scanning structure, drop-offs, or deepwater targets.

This Osprey 515 is now equipped for anything from inshore structure scanning to deepwater fishing, providing clear visuals, powerful sonar, and intuitive control for every mission on the water.
