First Gamefish Landed on Family Boat After Alderman Islands Trip
Recently one of our customers shared a great story and photo from a special day on the water — landing their first gamefish on their own boat while fishing off Tauranga.
An Early Start from Tauranga
The day started with an early departure from Tauranga, heading offshore toward the Alderman Islands (The Aldies) to spend the day trolling.
After fishing wide, the crew began the run home toward Tauranga when the moment every game fisher waits for finally happened.

The Strike
On the way back, the short rigger suddenly went off.
Fish on.
The crew quickly got into action, and it turned into a true family effort to land the fish.
-
Dad took the helm
-
Mum was ready on the gaff
-
Nick was on the rod
A proper team effort.
A Special Family Moment
The fish was successfully landed and later taken to the weigh station, marking a milestone moment — the first gamefish landed on their own boat.
Moments like this are what game fishing is all about.
Not just the fish, but the memories made along the way.

Memories That Last
As the crew put it best:
“Bloody happy is an understatement.”
A huge congratulations to the whole family.
With a start like that, there are sure to be many more memories to come on the water.
